Inquiry & Research as a way of life: An Introduction

What is the scientific process to find answers for your questions or things that you are curious about?  What are the primary rules and guidelines to think like an everyday researcher? What is our role as researchers towards building a better world? These are some of things that you will not only discover but also practice in this workshop.

By the end of the workshop, you would have  also worked on your own mini-research project to practice what you learn. And this will prepare you to do much more on your own!

What is the target audience?

  • For anyone above the age of 6 years.
  • Different batches are run for children and adults.
  • You do not need to have any prior knowledge of research to take this basic (Level 1) course.
  • One to one workshops are recommended for children below 8 years of age.

Course Overview

Session 1: The Building Blocks

Who is a researcher? What is reality? What are the key terms that will help you know the difference between common sense and research-sense. You also get practice work to apply what you just learnt. 

Session 2: The Research Process

What are the scientific steps that a researcher follows? We use no jargons. But you get ready to plan your own research project. 

Session 3: My Research Project (Part 1)

You present your research progress, ask questions, deal with challenges, get feedback and evolve.

Session 4: My Research Project (Part 2)

You present your research, work on your report, ask questions, get feedback, and finalize your report. Also understand the Do's and Don'ts of preparing a report.

Session 5: Learning Review

Learning review is a combination of Quiz and discussion. It helps you consolidate learnings.

How to enrol for the course: Check Announcement Section

The parent/withdraw can withdraw/cancel upto 48 hours before the course begins. In this case, they will get 100% refund. For cancellations done less than 48 hours of the beginning of the course, no refund is possible.
It is best if you do not miss a class. We generally do not record sessions. Hence, it is unlikely that there will be a recording available for you. You can get 15-20 minute catch up time with the Course Lead on the key things covered in the session. However, since all the sessions are designed for learning based on interactions, it is best to be there for these interactions.
We still continue with the sessions as planned.
Yes, you can pay and book the workshop for others. If you are keen on sponsoring the workshop for underprivileged children but don't know any such children yourself, you can still book the workshop as a sponsor. from our network of partner organziations, we will locate the child who can benefit.
For some participants the workshop is free when it is gifted or sponsored by someone else. You can ask your sponsor to book this workshop on your behalf. Otherwise, you can let us know by writing to us at: . As soon as the sponsored/gifted workshop becomes available, we will include your child in the batch.
